Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Bharat Panchang (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) handles information when you use the web app, installable PWA, Google sign-in, synchronization, reminders, and notification features. Questions and requests may be sent to shinde.mahi26@gmail.com.

2. Information stored only on your device

Guest settings, selected language and city, lunar-month preference, family profiles, personal events, reminder rules, saved items, and cached Panchang results are stored in your browser using IndexedDB. We do not receive this information unless you deliberately sign in and choose a backup or synchronization action.

You can remove local information by using available delete controls or clearing Bharat Panchang site data in your browser. Clearing browser data may permanently remove guest information that has not been backed up.

3. Information processed when you sign in

Google sign-in is optional. We request only standard authentication information needed to create and secure your account, such as your Google account identifier, email address, and basic profile details supplied by Google. We do not request access to Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, calendars, or other Google product content.

Google information is used only for authentication, account display, private backup, and synchronization. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, determine creditworthiness, or share it with data brokers. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

4. Optional cloud information

If you choose backup or synchronization, your preferences, profiles, events, reminders, follows, and saved items are stored in our Supabase project under your account. Database row-level security is used to restrict private records to their owner. Push subscriptions contain a browser endpoint and encryption keys and are stored in a server-only schema.

The app uses a selected city and its fixed latitude, longitude, and time zone to calculate Panchang timings. It does not currently request continuous GPS location.

5. Service providers and operational data

• Google provides optional account authentication.
• Supabase provides authentication, database, and synchronization infrastructure.
• Vercel hosts the web app and server functions.
• Your browser or push service delivers notifications you enable.

These providers may process technical information such as IP address, request time, device or browser details, cookies, security events, and service logs according to their own policies. We use this operational information to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the service—not for behavioural advertising.

6. Cookies and session storage

Authentication cookies and browser storage keep you signed in and protect account requests. Local storage and IndexedDB support settings, offline use, and cached calendar data. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Notifications

Notifications are opt-in. If enabled, the app stores your delivery preferences and push subscription. Notification text may appear on a lock screen; use the privacy setting to hide reminder details. You can revoke notification permission in your browser at any time.

8. Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local guest data remains until you delete it or clear site data. Cloud records remain while your account is active or as reasonably necessary for backup, security, legal compliance, and service integrity. You may sign out without deleting local data.

To request access, correction, export, account deletion, or deletion of cloud data, email us from the address associated with your account. We may verify the request before acting. You can also revoke Bharat Panchang’s Google access from your Google Account permissions.

9. Security and international processing

We use HTTPS, server-side secrets, access controls, and database row-level security. No online system is completely secure, and the app is not end-to-end encrypted. Our providers may process information in countries outside your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

10. Children

Bharat Panchang is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 18. A parent or lawful guardian should supervise any child’s use and should not create or synchronize a child’s profile without appropriate authority and consent.

11. Changes and contact
